Different from the last few products, the 2908 uses better quality materials. An ABS frame and base and gray ABS inner core is used to make the internal wiring more visible and easy to spot during installation. The most important conductive components we went with brass conductors and silver-based gearbox tube. Brass has good conductivity and strength, silver-based contacts have extremely low contact resistance and very strong anti-oxidation properties, so it can make very sensitive and stable contacts every time you press, greatly prolonging the electrical life of the product and preventing malfunctions caused by contact oxidation.
Clicking each button, it is made that way for each button. It can withstand hundreds of thousands of repeated presses and maintain stable performance. VODE 2908 doorbell switch is a standard N. O. switch. When not pressed the circuit is open; when a visitor presses the switch the circuit closes, causing the doorbell to ring. This is the most popular type of doorbell switch.
• Q2. Compared with ordinary metal contacts, what are the advantages of silver-based contacts?
The silver-based contacts have a higher conductivity and a lower contact resistance. Also it has better resistance to arc erosion. This is to say that it is stronger, not prone to oxidation from frequently turning on and off, nor prone to corrosion from sulfides in the air, and can maintain the sensitive trigger function for a longer time and prevent the doorbell from malfunctioning.
• Q3. Can it be used in low-voltage and high-voltage circuits?
This doorbell switch is low voltage. It is usually connected to the traditional transformer-powered doorbells, such as 12V/24V. Do not connect it directly to the household 220V high voltage line. when you are actually going to install the item, check your local electric code, and get a professional to put in.
